Introducing Film and the Girl: A Film Photography Zine

Photography, to me, isn’t a thing I do. It’s who I am. It’s how I feel. It’s what I see. Everything is a photograph. A moment turned into a memory. It’s something I’ve done my entire adult life. And I know no other life.

And as I sit here, clicking through thousands of images, I’m heartbroken. Yes, I shoot for me. And will probably never shoot for anyone else again. But I’d still like others to at least see my work. And possibly enjoy it? So I decided to start printing my work in the form of a film photography zine.

What’s a zine?
A zine is a mini magazine filled with art. Usually inexpensively made, limited run, and self-published.

Why am I doing a zine?
Well, because I want to. I believe that photographs deserve to live on paper. In books, on walls, and desks. Not stuffed away on a hard drive. That’s what this will do. It will give my photos life again and put them in your hands.

How often will I print the zine?
I anticipate printing one every quarter, starting this month!

The First Issue
It only made sense that I start Film and the Girl with some of my vintage car photos. My photography journey started with race cars. So it seemed too perfect.

For the Love of Racing is a 12 page, full color zine with nine photos. Each issue is signed and numbered in pencil on the back. This issue will be limited to 25 copies total and will be available on October 10. The first issue will be $4 + shipping.
