365 PHOTOS OF 2017 | WEEK 12

I know I'm a little delayed, but I AM still shooting daily. I promise. I'm just not editing daily.  I'll be honest about this project. It's one of the best things I've done as a photographer, but it was slowing killing me. You see, up until this project, I was shooting 99% film/analog. Then, in 2017, I decided to start working on my video skills - which lead me to start my One Second a Day project. And I figured, "Well, if I'm picking up my DSLR daily, might as well do a 365 photo project as well!" Makes sense! Except it meant I was shooting video and photos on my DSLR daily and not picking up my film cameras ever.

I started to feel board with my work and down on it. Not something I've ever really experienced since shooting film. Because...film has that surprise element to it. It's fun and exciting. I often times don't even remember what I shoot until I see it weeks later. Not only that, but I'm never quite certain how a certain film will look in a certain light. I LOVE experimenting with photography. LOVE IT.

So what did I do? I decided to start incorporating FILM photos into my 365 photo project. And this week is the first week I did it. The 5th and 7th photos in this string were both shot on Kodak Ektar 100 (the 5th photo is unedited the 7th photo was converted to b/w).

You can definitely expect more film in my 365 from here on out - that's for sure!
