Olympus OM1 Light Leaks in the Desert: Rolls 8 and 9

A Year with Olympus and Ilford: Rolls 8 and 9

What does light leak look like on an Olympus OM1, you ask? I can show you. I can't say I'm surprised. I noted a tiny little bow in the camera backing. I didn't think anything of it. But it definitely leaks in some light. But I also can't say I'm sad about it. I've been LOVING all the photo experimenting I'm doing in the darkroom and with my plastic cameras. Thankfully the leak isn't horrible. I bet I accidentally closed the leak off by holding my camera tightly for most of the frames. Only about 3 or 4 per roll were affected. This is what this project is all about though...experimenting. Trying new things. Testing the limits. Learning the ins and outs of the film and camera. And that's exactly what's happening.

I love that these rolls were taken in Arizona. My husband was born and raised there. My family moved there when I was in high school. So most of our family lives there. We go back a few times a year. And this trip we got to see almost everyone and everything...including a spring training game, the train park, and butterfly museum.

And the train park...oh the train park. It's right by my inlaws house and our daughter LOVES to go there. Actually...I don't know if my inlaws love taking her more or if she loves going more, but regardless - it's super cute and a lot of fun to see my inlaws get so excited to take her to the train park and her loving every minute of it.

And then of course, an early Easter egg hunt! It was perfect practice for the real day. She even found them amoung the golf balls in the backyard. And quite proud of herself!

Arizona, we love you.
