Monthly Goals: July
I can't believe it's already [almost] July. Where has the year gone? I love July. I love Independence Day, fireworks, summer nights, pool days, and of course JSP's birthday is in July - what's not to love? One of the things I've decided to start doing is setting monthly goals. Some will be small. Others will be bigger. But I love working towards goals and crossing things of lists. LOVE IT. Like, sometimes I create lists and add things I've already done just so I can cross them off of is [not what I'm doing here - but you get the idea.]
Blog at least 8 times
I'm really really trying to work on my SEO and I know blogging has a lot to do with that. I know ultimately I should be blogging 3-4 times a week, but starting with 8 for the month is a good, attainable goal. So make sure you visit, because there will be all sorts of fun stuff on a regular basis!
Be more intentional with my time
As a business owner who also works a full-time job, do all of my photography work and behind the scenes business stuff [so much more than just taking pretty photos] at night and on the weekends. It's not uncommon for me to sit behind the computer once my daughter goes to bed until I go to bed. Just working. So, I'm going to start creating lists of things I still need to accomplish in chronological order and work from there. I don't need to work all night every night. If I'm more intentional with me time, I'll actually get more done in less time [especially if I close Facebook while I'm working.]
Try a new Around Austin spot
This month I started Around Austin. It's something I've been wanting to do for ages. I am all about supporting small and local businesses - in fact, I can't remember the last time I ate or drank somewhere that wasn't local, seriously. Austin has some amazing businesses and I'm excited to share my experience with them. Where the next place will be, I'm not sure yet, but I will share it here!
Track my audience
This one is going to be a little more challenging. As part of my SEO venture, I know I need to start tracking my audience better. How many people are visiting the site each day, what are they searching, what are they clicking on...it helps me know what's working - and what's not working. We'll see how this one goes.
So. There you have it, my goals for July. Do you set monthly goals? How has it worked for you? What are some of yours for July?
